Clinical Dry Needling (DN) is a skilled intervention that uses a thin filiform needle to penetrate the skin and stimulate underlying myofascial trigger points, muscular, and connective tissues for the management of neuromusculoskeletal pain and movement impairments.
DN is used to treat dysfunctions in skeletal muscle, fascia and connective tissue and diminish persistent peripheral nociceptive input and reduce or restore impairments of function leading to improved activity and participation.

Course registration includes:
- All practice needles supplied for the course;
- An illustrated electronic course manual (sent out weeks ahead of the course to help you best prepare);
- Certificate of attendance in printed or digital form (with CPD point accreditation);
- Pathway to completing the Dry Needling Level 2 course and certifying as a dry needling practitioner;
Course Agenda:
The course is designed in an intensive hands-on format.
1. The DN module 1 course focuses on safe dry needling techniques based on sound anatomy and clinical reasoning. We will be needling most regions in the body, and you will be practicing on each other.
2. The DN module 2 focuses on safe dry needling techniques based on sound anatomy, a full practical review of DN1 and clinical discussions and treatments for how DN is incorporated into managing specific clinical conditions.
3. Practical assessment at the end of modules 1+2 which form part of the dry needing practitioner certification exam.
Target audience:
Dry Needling courses are for healthcare therapists / professionals (clinical physiotherapists (PT’s), chiropractors (DC’s), osteopaths (DO’s), podiatrists, soft tissue and manual therapists, kinesiologists, doctors, medical specialists and acupuncturists) for whom dry needling is within their scope of practice and are legally permitted to needle in their registered country / state.
No minimum dry needling or previous acupuncture experience is required but presumed anatomy, advanced palpation skills and clinical expertise is expected due to the advanced nature and in depth structure of our DN courses. Professional indemnity insurance as per your professional body is also a pre-requisite.
Sports / rehab / massage therapists can apply subject to scope of practice with their professional organization, theoretical and practical experience and having professional indemnity insurance.
