Aims / Objectives of the program
● This is a foundational seminar for any health practitioner who wants to learn about health, function and performance of the pelvic floor.
● This seminar will provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of
- The Functional anatomy of the pelvic floor.
- Its function/dysfunction and how it relates to the symptoms of pelvic organ
dysfunction (such as urinary/fecal incontinence, frequent urination,
constipation, prolapse, sexual dysfunction, pelvic pain, etc.).
- Surgical and conservative treatment options.
- Pelvic floor muscle evaluation.
- Pelvic floor muscle awareness, training & modification of exercise programs.
- Prevention and early detection & identification of pelvic floor dysfunction.
Learning outcomes
● Understanding of pelvic floor functional anatomy
● Comprehension of the function, dysfunction and the pelvic floor dysfunction symptoms
● Understanding the connection between pelvic floor, breathing and the core
● Introduction of pelvic floor physiotherapy initial assessment process
● Identify the Do's & Don'ts for a healthy pelvic floor
● Develop the ability to incorporate pelvic floor muscle activation into the exercise programs
● Ability to modify exercise programs for a safe pelvic floor
● Physiotherapists will be introduced to pelvic floor initial assessment process for adequate understanding of the physical therapy rehabilitation and management of patient's symptoms
● Midwives will benefit from a better understanding of pelvic floor muscle exercise to provide more effective programs during pregnancy. Furthermore, by targeting early intervention, they will be able to identify pelvic floor dysfunction immediately after delivery
● Trainers will be able to incorporate pelvic floor activation into their exercise programs to keep the pelvic floor safe. In addition, they will be able to provide exercise programs that protect the pelvic floor in trainees who have pelvic floor dysfunction.

● In Person Module - Practical session
1st Day (open for all)
- Breathing & the pelvic floor
- Pelvic floor awareness & exercise
- The pelvic floor and the core exercises
- Modification of exercise programs
- Case studies discussion
2nd Day (open ONLY to physiotherapists)
- Pelvic floor initial assessment (vaginal examination)
- Case studies discussion
The information is immediately applicable to clinical practice.
This is a prerequisite course for any other course related to the Pelvic Floor & the pre-postnatal period.

Course format: Online pre-reading, face-to-face hands-on, online presentation, guest speakers medical doctors, practical demonstration (as per international guidelines per specialty), case study discussion and certification exams.
Target audience: Physiotherapists, senior physiotherapy students, osteopaths, chiropractors, midwives, exercise professionals, OBGYN nurses.
No of participants: Min pax 8, max pax 16 (for the practical part only) (priority list will apply in case of higher demand).
Course dates:
-Modules 1+2: Online live teaching 11-14 & 18-19 May 2024, 7-9pm UAE time (UTC+4)
-Module 3*: Hands-on practical workshop + certification exams: 25-26 May 2024, 9-5pm.
*The practical part will be divided as per specialty: Physiotherapists, senior physiotherapy students 2 days (25-26th May), osteopaths, chiropractors, midwives, exercise professionals and OBGYN nurses 1 day (25th May).
Internationally accredited course 28 CPD points for physiotherapists, 21 CPD points for other specialties.
Certificates of attendance will be provided to attendees at the conclusion of the online and practical course.
